This revelation came during a recent investor interaction, highlighting the company’s strategic alignment with Huawei’s push for a self-sustaining software environment.
The collaboration primarily focuses on the development and integration of mapping services within HarmonyOS, Huawei’s proprietary operating system designed to replace Android. As Huawei accelerates its transition into a multi-device ecosystem—spanning smartphones, tablets, and increasingly, smart electric vehicles—the need for robust, domestic mapping infrastructure has become a critical bottleneck.
