China Sets 2026 Computing Power Conference for September in Langfang

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that the 2026 China Computing Power Conference will be held in Langfang, Hebei Province, from September 11 to 13. Centered on the theme of building an integrated national computing network, the conference will highlight domestic semiconductor advances, green computing solutions, and regional coordination across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei corridor, alongside investment matchmaking from state-backed industrial funds.

Computing power is the foundational infrastructure for artificial intelligence and broader digital economic expansion. This summit is positioned to signal key policy directions for China's upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan while accelerating commercialization and investment for indigenous hardware and software ecosystems.

The 2026 China Computing Power Conference will take place from September 11 to September 13 in Langfang, Hebei Province, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported by People's Daily. Organized under the theme of "Weaving the Computing Power Network Together, Wisely Opening a New Future," the summit will focus on four major areas: authoritative policy direction, frontier technological innovation, industrial practical application, and public accessibility. According to the organizing committee, the event will serve as a platform to unveil forward-looking policy directions and specialized research reports aligned with China's upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan. A major focal point will be the regional computing coordination among Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, featuring dedicated supply-and-demand matchmaking and the presentation of collaborative regional achievements. For the first time, the conference will feature a dedicated debut launch platform split into technical and industrial tracks. The showcase will spotlight newly developed domestic computing chips, intelligent agents, and green computing breakthroughs. Over ten thematic sub-forums will address emerging fields including artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, compute-electricity coordination, space-based computing, and the token economy, exploring paths to optimize computing efficiency and commercial value. To drive commercial adoption, organizers will host multi-tier procurement and investment roadshows, partnering with state-level industrial guidance funds and venture capital firms to facilitate project financing. Alongside the main forums, the "Computing China: AI and Computing Power Industry Exhibition" will be open to the public free of charge, featuring specialized zones dedicated to regional infrastructure, ecosystem development, public computing services, and industrial AI applications. The annual conference has previously been held in Shandong, Ningxia, Henan, and Shanxi provinces. Host city Langfang represents a core node in the northern digital corridor, having secured the top spot in China's city computing power sub-index for two consecutive years.
