National Healthcare Medical Imaging AI Recognition Finals Set for Nanning

China News Service reported that the finals of a national healthcare medical imaging AI recognition competition will be held in Nanning, Guangxi, on October 22 to 23. The competition is jointly organized by China's National Healthcare Security Administration and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The event marks China's first national professional competition focused on AI and medical imaging recognition. Featuring tracks across eight major diseases such as lung cancer, breast cancer, and kidney cancer, it covers critical clinical application scenarios. Since its launch, the contest drew 1332 teams and 4447 participants across 30 Chinese provincial-level regions, Hong Kong, Macao, and ASEAN countries. Following preliminary rounds, 66 qualifying teams reached the final round in Nanning. Finalists will compete through on-site scoring and defense reviews using desensitized clinical healthcare imaging data. Experts will assess capabilities including lesion recognition, diagnostic assistance, interpretation efficiency, and anomaly detection like identifying duplicate or spliced images.

Guangxi has issued a three-year action plan for transforming results. For mature auxiliary diagnosis projects demonstrating clear clinical value and meeting management requirements, procedures will incorporate them into medical service pricing management, exploring healthcare payment pathways to benefit patients and clinical practice.
