Huaiyuan Hosts Glutinous Rice Industry Cluster Conference and Deepens Supply Chain

China News Service reported that the Fourth Huaihe River Glutinous Rice Industry Cluster Development Conference opened in Huaiyuan County, Bengbu, Anhui Province. The gathering convened representatives of planting entities, grain traders, and processing enterprises from Huaihe production regions to discuss cluster development pathways. To boost standardization and intensive circulation, the Huaiyuan glutinous rice trading center integrated a competitive bidding system, according to trading operations lead Shao Zhili. The facility launched dedicated online bidding sessions to establish a closed-loop transaction flow combining online bidding with offline physical delivery. Building upon its agricultural base, Huaiyuan has lengthened its food processing chain with products such as glutinous rice crust, shaomai, glutinous rice chicken, and tangyuan reaching more than 20 countries and regions. The conference also produced a regional partnership between Huaiyuan County and the management committee of the Heilongjiang Jiamusi National Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone. Both sides signed an agreement to build a collaborative glutinous rice system, adopting an order-based planting model to connect northern grain transit southward.

Standardized and intensive planting provides downstream food processors with stable supply and uniform quality, according to Meng Huan, purchasing manager at Anhui Liangyue Dachixiong Food Technology Co., Ltd., resolving previous raw material quality control difficulties caused by scattered farming.
