Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo Highlights Field-Ready Farming Innovations

People's Daily reported that the 33rd China Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo and the 2026 SCO Agricultural Expo were held from October 25 to 29 in Yangling, Shaanxi. Across indoor, field, cloud, and overseas exhibitions, the event addressed how scientific innovation converts into real agricultural productivity. The event established 43 field demonstration and promotion sites across 10 prefecture-level cities in Shaanxi Province and Yangling district. These sites hosted comparative trials for new crop varieties, hands-on demonstrations of farm machinery, and field promotions of integrated water and fertilizer management, while also providing guidance to non-local farmers via an online platform. At the special exhibition for intelligent agricultural equipment, an automatic fruit and vegetable grafting machine demonstrated a peak operating capacity of 1200 plants per hour alongside the automated detection and removal of unqualified seedlings. The equipment has entered practical application in areas including Hebei and Xinjiang. The expo established an independent SCO Agricultural Expo pavilion for the first time, gathering all 27 member and observer nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, with Egypt serving as the theme country. The event introduced products such as dates and freeze-dried fruits, while participants released an initiative aimed at strengthening water-saving agricultural technology cooperation across the SCO region.

A skilled worker typically grafts 300 to 500 plants daily, whereas the showcased automatic grafting machine reaches a peak pace of 1200 plants hourly. Furthermore, the unit identifies and discards defective seedlings automatically during grafting operations in regions like Hebei and Xinjiang.
