Senior Chinese Leaders Meet Uzbekistan Presidential Administration Head

Senior Chinese officials met with the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, in Beijing to discuss strategic ties, high-level exchanges, and practical bilateral cooperation. According to state media reports, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Mirziyoyeva in Beijing on August 26. Wang, who also serves on the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Wang stated that under the strategic guidance of both heads of state, China-Uzbekistan relations have achieved leapfrog development in recent years. Emphasizing Beijing's commitment to the partnership, Wang noted that China remains a reliable and sincere partner for Uzbekistan. He expressed confidence that Tashkent will continue to provide firm support on issues concerning China's core interests, adding that Beijing is ready to work alongside Uzbekistan to write a new chapter in friendly bilateral cooperation. In response, Mirziyoyeva conveyed President Mirziyoyev's sincere greetings to President Xi. She stated that Uzbekistan looks forward to maintaining regular high-level exchanges with China and deepening pragmatic cooperation across diverse sectors. In addition to talks with China's foreign minister, Mirziyoyeva also met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, as part of her official engagements in Beijing, according to state media outlets. The high-level talks reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts between Beijing and Tashkent to consolidate political mutual trust and ensure the coordinated implementation of high-level consensus reached between their respective heads of state.
