China and India to Hold 25th Round of Boundary Talks in Beijing

China and India have agreed to convene the 25th Meeting of Special Representatives on the China-India Boundary Question on August 25 in Beijing, according to announcements by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and state media. Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and China's Special Representative, will hold talks with Indian National Security Advisor and Special Representative Ajit Doval. The high-level meeting continues an institutional dialogue channel aimed at managing border disputes and stabilizing bilateral ties.

The Special Representative mechanism is the premier strategic and political framework for managing China-India territorial disagreements and preventing border friction from escalating into wider bilateral crises.

While frontline commanders maintain working-level contacts to manage local deployments, the Special Representative channel provides overarching strategic direction for bilateral ties.
